Public education funding (food 4 thought)

Why in the hell do politicians, who send their own children to private schools, get to set the budgets and program of learning for public schools?

Children of the Presidents:

REAGAN: (4 kids - only found the education of one)
Ron Reagan attended Webb Schools of California (private), and went on to Yale.

BUSH 1 (5 kids)
Jeb and George W. Bush attend Phillips Andover, a private boarding school in Massachusetts. Jeb graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Texas at Austin.
Neil Bush attended the exclusive St. Albans School in Washington, DC and went on to Tulane University.
Marvin Bush attended Woodberry Forest School a private, all-male boarding school located in Woodberry Forest, Madison County, Virginia.
Dorothy Bush attended Miss Porter's School and earned a B.A. from Boston College.
George W., it should be noted, did attended public schools in Midland, Texas until the family moved to Houston after he completed seventh grade. He then went to The Kinkaid School, a private prep school in Houston, for two years. He then went on to Phillips as already noted and attended Yale University.

CLINTON (1 kid)
Chelsea Clinton attended Sidwell Friends School, on to Stanford University, Oxford and finally Columbia University.

BUSH 2: (2 kids)
Jenna and Barbara Bush attended Preston Hollow Elementary School (public), The Hockaday School (private), and when their dad was governor of TX, attended St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Austin, Texas (private). They then DID attended public school at Austin High School. Jenna went on to attended University of Texas, and her twin went to Yale.

OBAMA:
Malia Ann and Natasha (Sasha) attend the private Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC, the same school as attended by Chelsea Clinton (noted above), Tricia Nixon Cox, and Archibald Roosevelt, and currently the grandchildren of Vice President Joe Biden. While in Chicago, both attended the private University of Chicago Laboratory School.


How about this...

The United States Secretary of Education is the head of the Department of Education. The Secretary is a member of the President's Cabinet, and the current United States Secretary of Education is Arne Duncan, who attended The University of Chicago Laboratory Schools (same as the Obama girls), a private, co-educational day school in Chicago, Illinois, and went on to Harvard University.

These are the people who set the policy and funding for PUBLIC schools in America.
